Projektbeschreibung der*des Nominierenden
| Professor Yaffe is a world-leading expert in the field of fundamental particle physics. His recent work on non-equilibrium and thermalisation from shock wave collisions in gauge/gravity duality has created important new links between non-equilibrium field theory and time-dependent solutions of general relativity and has direct applications to the physics of the quark-gluon plasma. The AdS/CFT duality will be at the center of Professor Yaffe's work in Germany. In particular, he will calculate the time it takes in high-energy heavy ion collisions to reach approximate hydrodynamic behaviour. |
